I walked out of my house this morning and observed an interesting normality.
Out of the littered, green lawn in front of my house glistened a shiny glare of moisture.
Dew.
I looked at this and then it hit me.
This is how I want to be.
Like a littered, green lawn that glistens with a shiny glare of moisture.
As I looked at this littered, green lawn glistening with a shiny glare of moisture, I remembered the words of a song that speaks to God...
"Like the dew in the morning, gently rest upon my heart."
Yeah.
Like that.
I said a prayer which expressed these words, "God, amidst the littered , green lawn of my life, let the tangibility of who you are shine through who I am, and catch the eyes of people going about their daily lives."
The thing I love about dew is that it isn't inconspicuous.
You have to "catch a glimpse of it".
But if you were to doubt it's presence and reached down to feel the grass, you in no way can doubt the presence of dew.
What if our lives were "wet to the touch" of those around us and instead of a bombastic presentation of our faith, we were more committed to having a little "shine" that catches the eyes of people going about their daily lives.
Hopefully, that glare builds their faith in dew.
Jesus said we should let our lights shine so people could see our lifestyles and find a compass towards faith.
In other words, let the littered, green lawn of your life be wet with the dew of heaven.
Shiny to the eyes and wet to the touch.

This is good...in the midst of the craziness and "litter" we do need to remember who we are in God, and that He is still there in the midst. This is encouraging. Thanks!

Cool. Thanks for the read.
Very nice.
Great Post Ben! I love that image...dew...not rain that forces people to pay attention to it but gentle and still pretty much accomplishing the same task as rain does in that it brings growth and moisture huh...very cool way to think about the way our lives should be.
